As the Commercial Director at The Somewhere Co., you will be responsible for leading and growing two of our core sales channels: wholesale and retail stores. You’ll drive revenue, profitability, and global expansion across these channels, ensuring each one is aligned to brand values, performance goals, and customer experience. You’ll operate at both a strategic and operational level, leading a high-performing team to scale TSC’s reach both locally and internationally.

You’ll be responsible for driving commercial performance across our global wholesale network and Australian retail stores. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with Product, Marketing, and Operations, you’ll lead the charge on growth strategy, team performance, and operational execution.
The Role:
Wholesale and Retail
- Own and execute the global wholesale strategy across multiple product categories (TSC mini, SMWR fashion and The Somewhere Co.).
- Build and manage distributor relationships and major accounts
- Expand our global wholesale network through smart outreach and strategic partnerships.
- Partner with product and planning to shape sell-in ranges that excite retailers and meet margin targets.
- Oversee the performance of our brick-and-mortar stores (currently 3).
- Drive retail sales, in-store experience, and staff performance.
- Lead expansion strategy – new store rollouts, pop-ups, and concept testing.
Leadership & Commercial Performance
- Manage and mentor sales and store teams, setting clear targets and KPIs.
- Forecast revenue and margin performance across channels.
- Use data to make strategic decisions on pricing, promotions, and product mix.
- Align closely with brand and product to ensure a seamless customer experience across all channels.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a senior commercial, sales or retail leadership role.
- Strong background in wholesale strategy, account management, and retail operations.
- Experience in lifestyle, fashion, homewares or gifting brands a bonus.
- Commercially sharp, customer-obsessed, and creatively minded.
- A strategic thinker who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves.

The Role
- Own the end-to-end social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms
- Build forward-thinking, engagement-first content plans aligned to brand and business goals
- Define how we show up: tone, timing, frequency, format — and continuously refine based on insights
- Lead content creation in partnership with our store, design and marketing teams, with a focus on Reels/TikToks
- Foster a thriving digital community through thoughtful engagement and hype-worthy moments
- Drive social-first activations that delight, surprise, and connect
- Be confident on-camera and in conversation
- Repurpose and elevate UGC to celebrate our customers and turn them into ambassadors
- Support in planning community based events in our TSC stores
- Support in building our influencer and ambassador program
- Support in securing authentic partnerships with like-minded brands, creators, and collaborators
- Support PR outreach and identify shareable stories that generate excitement and reach
About You
- 3+ years of experience in social media, digital content, or community management
- Strategic thinker with hands-on content creation ability
- Confident on camera and skilled at building emotional connection through content
- Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram trends, best practices, and analytics
- Proven ability to grow channels, build engaged audiences, and translate buzz into results
- Collaborative, adaptable, and energised by creativity and connection

Store Manager & Community Builder

- Lead by example to achieve store targets and meet daily KPIs
- Confidently draw conclusions from reporting, helping you to identify opportunities to elevate and improve store performance, and ultimately uplevel customer experience
- Take responsibility for all store operations, including rostering and inventory management, recognising their impact on the overall customer experience
- Weave your VM magic, with products sometimes changing week to week
- Be solutions-focused and able to manage multiple tasks on the go
- Rely on your strong written and verbal communication skills to mentor and nurture your team, and work closely with your remote Sales Manager
What you’ll need:
- To be an experienced and warm leader
- A genuine love of people and a passion for creating authentic and engaging connections with your team and customers
- Previous retail management experience would be preferred, including the creation of rosters that balance the needs of the business with wage budget requirements
- Previous content creation or marketing experience would be a huge bonus!
- A proven track record of building and nurturing strong, engaged and high-performing teams
- High energy and the motivation to succeed autonomously
- Strong visual merchandising skills
